Ladakh is a vibrant wonderland which offers a fascinating fusion of ancient religions, a rich cultural history and diverse ethnic influences imbibed through the many missionaries, explorers and traders who crossed this land.
Embedded within snow peaked glimmering glaciers, its mystical beauty lies in its sparkling crystal clear lakes, foaming rivers, its living Buddhism, its stunning landscapes, spectacular old gompas (monasteries), ancient villages and soaring mountaines which lures one to return and experience the bliss more than once.
Leh is the heart of Ladakh which sprawls just north of the river Indus at an altitude of 3,52o m. It is a small town of flat-roofed houses and intersecting lanes where people great each other with a smiling julley (hello) as in rest of Ladakh. Leh forms the base for exploring the entire region of Ladakh. It was an important stop for caravans on the ancient Silk Route.
